The most important part of setting up your wired headset is making sure you have the right connector for your end-device. If you're not sure which connector you need, please take a look at our product explanations and compatibility guide.
When using your wired headset with a deskphone, you will need to connect the headset to the phone's headset port. Depending on your model of deskphone, you may need to activate a headset or hands-free mode to route the audio through the headset rather than the hand-receiver.
To check which settings need to be activated on your specific deskphone, please consult the manual.
When connecting your headset to your PC using one of our USB headsets, or an Easy Disconnect headset with a USB cable attached, your headset will be recognised by your computer as a communications device. This means that it will be ready to use for all your communications software.
If you're going to be using the headset for other purposes, such as listening to music, you may have to define the headset as the default device. To do this, go to your sound settings and under the "Playback" tab right click on the Sennheiser headset, and then left click on "Set as Default Device". All audio will now be routed through your headset.
If you're using a USB headset or a USB cable with a call control unit, please see the dedicated entry to see if your softphone is supported.
When connecting your wired headset to a mobile device such as a smartphone or a tablet, audio should be routed through the headset without needing to change any settings.
