Resetting your Bluetooth headset

A reset of your Bluetooth device is a good first step if you encounter any issues using your Bluetooth headset or dongle. It will return the headset to its factory settings, and in the case of the BTD 800 dongle, the Presence and the MB Pro, it it will also clear the pairing history.

On the MB 660, resetting the headset and clearing the pairing history are two separate procedures.

Resetting the BTD 800

To perform a reset with your BTD 800, please take the following steps

  1. Place the dongle into pairing mode (press the button once). LED should begin to flash alternately red and blue.
  2. Press the button twice in rapid succession ('double tap'). LED should now flash purple three times. These flashes are very quick and may be missed if attention is not paid.
  3. The dongle will now undergo a reset and all pairing history will be deleted. The device should then re-enter pairing mode.

Please note that once a factory reset has been performed, another cannot be done until the dongle has been paired again with at least one device.

Resetting the Presence

To perform a factory reset with the Presence, please take the following steps:

  1. Turn the headset off (slide the boom arm inwards; this should be followed by the voice prompt ‘power off’ and the LED flashing red 3 times).
  2. Keep both the volume buttons pressed and power on the headset; the LED will flash purple 3 times indicating a successful reset.
  3. After the reset the headset should enter pairing mode, indicated by the LED flashing alternately red and blue.
